Supported by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau at the Health Resources and Services Administration, PIRE operates the Children’s Safety Network Economics and Data Analysis Resource Center (CSN EDARC) from its National Capital Region Center in Maryland. PIRE conducts analyses of injury data (fatalities, hospitalizations, and emergency department visits) and provides incidence, trend, and cost/benefit information to help CSN determine priorities, understand injury issues, drive action, and evaluate action on child safety. In addition, PIRE serves on the CSN Steering Committee; responds to technical assistance requests to assist states and jurisdictions understand, access, and utilize injury data; and develops resources to support CSN’s capacity building and technical assistance activities for states and jurisdictions.
