R. J. Elrick is a Senior Program Manager. Currently working under the Calverton Training Center at PIRE and delivering training and technical assistance across the Nation in the area of underage drinking prevention and enforcement, R.J. was previously a full-time staff member of the Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center (UDETC) at PIRE, a part of the Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) project funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). In that role he was responsible for development of the distance learning initiatives, the coordination of the nationwide consultant team, and hands-on development and delivery of training and technical assistance to law enforcement and community-based organizations.
R.J. is 29-year veteran of law enforcement in Vermont. He served as the Director of the Vermont Police Academy, an elected County Sheriff, and a municipal police officer. He has extensive experience in police training, community collaboration, and multi-agency approaches to environmental prevention. He graduated from the College of St Joseph (VT) with a bachelor’s degree in business management and is a graduate of the 162nd Session of the FBI National Academy.
While continuing his consulting and training work in the law enforcement field, R. J. is now the Safety, Security, Health, and Environmental Manager with the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation.
